Foam Rolling 101
Foam rolling increases awareness of how your body feels and moves, helps develop
better posture and body symmetry, challenges your balance and activates
your deep core muscles.
You will be shown how to effectively use this versatile exercise prop. Foam
rollers may be used for Pilates, balance training, core exercises, flexibility,
self-massage and more. If you are unfamiliar with the foam
roller, a good way to start using one would be self-massage.
Self-massage using the foam roller is most comparable
to deep tissue massage. Regular treatments
can increase flexibility, decrease muscle tension
and pain, improve performance and
help prevent injury. Men and women of all
ages are invited to participate.
Foam rollers will be available to use in class.
Feel free to bring your own roller to use. New
rollers will be available for purchase for $30.00.
